Where To Eat in Vallarta

If there is one thing that everyone can agree about Mexico, it is the amazingness of its food. And Puerto Vallarta is no exception. PV's food scene has as much to offer as PV itself: there is something for everyone. From the laid back "sea to table" fare to more adventurous culinary experiences, you aren't going to go hungry during your stay here.

To help you start your culinary adventures, here are our eight faves in Puerto Vallarta;

Joe Jack's Fish Shack: This is a favorite of locals and tourists alike.  The rooftop patio is a perfect place for making new friends, while enjoying some of the best fish tacos in town.  Don't forget to order their famous seafood chowder and a side of brussels sprouts...delicious.

Barcelona Tapas: A beautiful open-air restaurant with gorgeous views of the bay make this restaurant a delectable departure from Mexican fare.  Make sure and arrive before sunset to take full advantage of the views, while you over-order dishes and definitely partake of the sangria.

Cevichería El Güero: If you're looking for the freshest ceviche in town, especially the mahi-mahi variety, look no further than El Güero. And, for those of you who don't lean pescatarian, the tacos and other traditional Mexican fare is delicious. Speaking of tacos...

Ceviche in Puerto Vallarta can't be beat!

Tacos El Cuñado: This taco stand has been in business since 1968. You aren't going to get a more authentic, or delicious, carne asada taco than those served up here. Vegetarians might want to consider...

Playa Detox: P.V.'s best vegan restaurant and juice bar offers incredible, plant-based variations on traditional Mexican dishes, including the ceviche and tacos vegans will miss out at above.

Cafe des Artistes: For those looking for an upscale dining experience, look no further than Chef Thierry Blouet's eatery. Come for the martini, stay for the ribeye. And, when all the formality is said and done, get ready to go to...

The views at El Barracuda

El Barracuda: Arguably P.V.s response to a French Riviera beach club. Party by day, party by night, people-watch 24/7. The food is superb and the daytime beach party does give way to a slightly more subdued evening experience. And, for a little bit more "theater" head to...

La Leche: This icon is as much about the food as it is about the design. This nearly all white restaurant is famous for its daily menu of incredibly inventive continental dishes. Coming back is never the same experience twice.
