Andrew & Evan: Love Late Night
Sometimes when you know, you know. You might realize it’s love while riding a subway, passing one another by in the street, or outside a bar late at night like where Andrew and Evan found themselves in October of 2015. “We found one another outside of a bar, and couldn’t say goodbye for the rest of the night. We wound up being late for work the next day and decided to get breakfast. After getting to work we couldn’t stop texting, and set up our next date. It was truly love at first sight in every sense of it. We never wanted to say goodbye.”
For their first official date, following their all night experience after the bar, Andrew picked Evan up from his train stop and took him out to a great Italian dinner. There, they shared their first bottle of wine together. In a touch of sentimentality, Andrew held onto the bottle to savor the memory. After dinner, they went back to Andrew’s rooftop, gathered some blankets, and stargazed together. “It felt like a dream. I thought Evan was the most handsome man I’d ever seen, and instantly was enamored by him. It was definitely a whirlwind romance and we were thinking how lucky we were to have found one another.”
The first time they said, “I love you” to each other isn’t as clear, but it was more of the feeling that was mutually understood. “I wouldn’t say there was a specific moment but more of a feeling. Everything was so easy and felt so right that it just clicked. When you know you just know.”
“I proposed to Evan in a cute little mountain town called, Jim Thorpe, in Pennsylvania at the top of a trail ironically named Switchback Trail. I didn’t know it was called that when I proposed, but it’s absolutely perfect. I had a ring for him I had designed in Philadelphia, and Evan was totally shocked. My friend was hidden and took pictures so we would have the memories forever. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Evan was already planning on proposing to me on a Philadelphia skyscraper rooftop. A few weeks later and since he already began planning it Evan proposed to me as well. Both moments were magical and so special.”
