Harry & Luke: Happily Ever After

If you’ve ever been to Walt Disney World, you know first-hand why it is called the ‘happiest place on earth.’ The unbridled joy elicited from everyone there puts the magic in kingdom. So, to have the relationship with your future husband start there, undoubtedly bodes well for a happy life together.

Harry and Luke met on the Cultural Representative Progam at Walt Disney World, a program for individuals to represent the foreign counties that inspire the immersive experiences at Disney. Luke, having discovered that Harry would be joining the program, reached out to him on Instagram. They chatted for months ahead of Harry’s arrival in Orlando. And, when the time came, Luke—who arrived in Orlando 2-months prior—asked Harry out.

“Our first date was a full-on day,” Luke described. After breakfast at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the two set out on a day at the Magic Kingdom Theme Park, enjoying the highlights of the park together. “It turned out both of our favorite thing to do was to grab coffee on Main Street and simply stroll around the park, so we dedicated plenty of time to that,” Luke said.

Harry said of Luke, “he had incredible energy. I felt an electricity off him which was infectious. When I left him to go home, I immediately felt I wanted to return to him.” For Luke, Harry “seemed to calm and easy to connect with. Everything seemed so natural straight away. I insisted we had a picture together at the Magic Kingdom so we would always have something to look back on.” Luke was quite prescient! From that first date forward, the two knew they were headed for forever.

Harry and Luke’s relationship deepened by spending days in theme parks and exploring the USA which ended suddenly because of Covid. “We went into months of the unknown,” he explained, but it was all of these adventures together helped them grow as individuals and develop as a couple.

When it came time to getting engaged, Harry timed his proposal alongside Luke’s 30th birthday trip to Rome. Harry planned to propose first thing in the morning so they could have a whole day celebrating, much the way they did on their first date. He also set up a camera to capture the moment as he got on bended knee at the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi in Piazza Navona. Harry said of proposing, “I lost all of my words, and everything went blank. Luckily Luke finished my words and said yes. I had written everything down on a postcard which he was able to read after!”

“I think it is safe to say I was quite shocked! It was completely unexpected in the best way possible,” Luke explained. “It took a while for it to sink in, and it didn’t really until a few days later when we found our rings in Venice.” Harry had bought token rings for the actual engagement but wanted the two to select their rings together. “Our rings represent Rome, specifically the ceiling of the Pantheon. I am so glad Luke could be part of the process.”

“Luke is a whole person, he knows what he wants and stands by his friends and family. He is incredibly loving and strong. He has taught me more than I'll ever be able to pay him back for. I am thrilled to be engaged, I feel safe, excited and ready for what the future holds.” “Harry is a force of good in this world. He dedicates so much of his time to helping others and always strives to help people be the best versions of themselves. He has helped me grow I will forever be grateful to him for that.

Together the two hope to be the role models they didn’t have growing up.

Having recently bought a new house together, they are making that their priority for the moment. But, as Luke said about planning the wedding, “I’d be lying if I said we hadn’t already thought about our favorite styles and color schemes!” Whatever they decide, we know it is going to be nothing short of magical.
